My photography career began at the age of 12 while on safari in Africa when my brother came down with a migraine and gave me his camera for the day. As you can imagine, he never got it back. That was the beginning of a love affair with photography that has now grown into a way of life. I've always seen the world and everything in it as beautiful and interesting and enjoy passing this on to my viewers through my photographs.
My passion is to make the mundane interesting and to capture the beauty in everyday events, whether it's on my drive to work, in my back yard, at the beach, or when I'm traveling. Edward Weston said it best, "Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual."
I like to take photographs that tug at an emotion deep inside. None of my images are staged. I work to catch things as they happen or exactly as they are, in the magic of the moment. I feel lucky to capture life on film and share it with you.
